Xhale Innovations to Demonstrate HyGreen atThe Fifth Decennial International Conference on Healthcare-Associated Infections
Booth #701
Xhale Innovations announced today that it will attend the Fifth Decennial International Conference on Healthcare-Associated Infections held in Atlanta, GA March 18 through March 21, 2010. This conference is the premier scientific meeting for healthcare epidemiologists and others working in the field of infection prevention and control. The conference will feature speakers who will address major issues facing healthcare epidemiology, as well as to highlight the latest in prevention, treatments, and patient care.
Xhale Innovations will be showcasing its new product line, HyGreen™ at booth # 701. This real-time hand hygiene recording and reminding system is designed to assist healthcare facilities with their infection control programs. Demonstrations of the HyGreen system will also be given.
According to Xhale CTO, Dr. Richard Melker, "Hospital acquired infections (HAI) take the lives of nearly 250 people in the U.S. every day and add approximately $30 billion to U.S. healthcare costs. Studies indicate that many HAIs are directly transmitted from patient to patient via the hands of healthcare workers. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that many of these infections are caused by the lack of hand washing before and after each patient contact. HyGreen™ will be able to help with this problem by reminding healthcare workers to wash their hands and by recording all hand washing events and patient-staff interactions in the hospital."
